The Legislative Affairs Associate supports VICA’s advocacy and government affairs work by assisting with legislative research, policy tracking, and committee support. This role works closely with senior staff to help advance policies that promote a strong business climate in the San Fernando Valley. This position is well-suited for students or recent graduates interested in public policy, law, or government affairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with legislative research and tracking of local, state, and federal bills
  • Support VICA policy committees and meetings
  • Help prepare background materials, summaries, and talking points
  • Maintain advocacy tracking and internal databases
  • Assist with member outreach and policy-related projects
  • Support communications and administrative tasks related to advocacy efforts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress (political science, public policy, communications, or related field preferred)
  • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
  • Interest in public policy, law, or government affairs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
