The Nesbitt for Governor seeks driven and politically hungry students for campaign roles for 2026. Those chosen to serve in this capacity will have a front row seat to the operation of a statewide campaign, while gaining valuable experience and learning from seasoned political professionals. This is a part-time, paid opportunity, and start times/hours are flexible.

Opportunities are currently available for both communications/social media and political internships, but interns will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of the campaign operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily campaign operations and special projects across departments
  • Support communications efforts, including media monitoring, research, and drafting content
  • Help with field and grassroots activities, including volunteer support and event preparation
  • Assist with data entry, tracking, and administrative tasks
  • Support campaign events, meetings, and candidate appearances
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in a dynamic campaign environment

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in Republican politics and Michigan issues
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Comfortable with basic computer tools
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • High level of integrity and interpersonal skills
