Each summer, our company welcomes students for a first-hand look into our business. Our interns study a variety of majors, and work in departments across the organization, taking on projects that have long-term impact on our business. This position is for a Corporate Communications Intern in Columbus, OH. This intern will work with Group Communications, a global team, and Marketing Communications, a local team. Duties and responsibilities for this particular position may include but are not limited to:
- Develop clear, concise and persuasive communication assets, including internal articles, social media posts, and other project communication deliverables. Writing should be well-organized and persuasive in order to effectively reach different audiences. Examples include success story articles about our employees, articles regarding new initiatives, general business updates, project announcements, etc.
- Ensure all communications align with the Company’s purpose, values, vision, and culture, and follows the METTLER TOLEDO brand and style guidelines.
- Provide project coordination support for key department programs and projects. Examples include current communication projects supporting HR and other department initiatives, Group Communication strategic initiatives that boost employee engagement, maintain editorial calendars and trackers for the Company intranet and select projects, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and other general computer skills
- Ability to work independently on projects
- Excellent communication skills and familiarity with AP Style and/or The Chicago Manual of Style
- Excellent follow-through, ability to meet deadlines, decision-making and multi-tasking skills
- Initiative/self-motivation and creativity
- Willingness to be an active, productive member of a global team, as well as the ability to work independently
Education/Experience Required
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 – May 2029. Applicable fields of study include Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or related fields.
