Life Skills Mentor (Ongoing Hiring)
Part-Time and Full-Time| Ongoing Hiring | Paid Training
Looking for a part-time job that feels like more than just a job?
At IKUS Life Enrichment Services, our Life Skills Coaches and Mentors spend time with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them build independence, try new things, get involved in their community, and have a great quality of life.
Why you’ll love this job
- No experience necessary — We’ll train you! We’re looking for people who are caring, dependable, and genuinely want to make a difference.
- Building relationships — Get to know the people you’re supporting and learn what makes them happy, what they want to accomplish, and what matters to them.
- Get out into the community — This isn’t a job where you’ll sit behind a desk all day.
- Make a real impact — Help someone become more independent, build confidence, learn new skills, and be more involved in their community.
- Great experience for your future — This is especially meaningful experience for students studying education, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation, nursing, human services, special education, and related fields—but you don’t have to be in one of these majors to be great at this job.
- Be part of something bigger — IKUS is a nonprofit organization committed to helping people with disabilities experience meaningful relationships, recreation, independence, and belonging.
