Hours: Flexible, based on the candidate. Ideally 10 hours in-office per week (two, five-hour shifts) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. M-F.
As a Marketing Intern, you will:
- Receive 1-on-1 supervision from the Director of Marketing while collaborating with multiple professionals across departments who focus on marketing & communications.
- Work directly with our Chief Communications Officer, gaining valuable insights into strategic communications & public relations.
- Take on a variety of marketing tasks, including press releases, social media promotion, graphic design, email marketing, & more.
- Play an active role in supporting marketing plans for major events like our Annual Meeting & the EMERGE Conference—two of Commerce Lexington’s signature initiatives.
- Attend and contribute to planning committee meetings, assisting with marketing planning throughout the signature event planning process.
- Work on projects that can result in published work, enhancing your professional portfolio.
- Assist the team in elevating existing marketing efforts through creative input & execution
Ideal candidates:
- Are proficient in public relations writing, with a strong understanding of effective communication.
- Have basic skills in graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Understand the principles of social media marketing & can contribute to planning and posting content across various platforms.
- Are detail-oriented, organized, & able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Are eager to learn about marketing campaigns & contribute to enhancing them through real-world experience.
