Fundraising & Event Development Intern

Department: Development
Reports To: Director of Development

Position Summary

Bello Machre is seeking a motivated and organized Fundraising & Database Management Intern to support the Development Department with fundraising initiatives, donor communications, database management, and special events. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and development while supporting Bello Machre’s mission of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling lives.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and interested in learning more about nonprofit development, fundraising, donor engagement, and event coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Event & Fundraising Support

Assist with planning and coordinating the AWS Golf Tournament, including:

Assembling and organizing participant swag bags.

Assisting with the development and preparation of event programs.

Coordinating the ordering and organization of event signage.

Providing additional logistical support before and during the event.

Assist the Development team with other fundraising events and initiatives as needed.

Donor Database & Stewardship

Assist with maintaining and updating Bello Machre’s donor database to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

Enter and update donor information, gifts, contact information, and other relevant records.

Assist with preparing and organizing donor thank-you letters and other donor communications.

Help ensure donors receive timely and meaningful acknowledgment of their support.

Fundraising Campaign Support

Collaborate with members of the Development team to develop and execute fundraising appeal campaigns.

Assist with researching and organizing information for fundraising appeals.

Help prepare campaign materials and communications.

Support tracking and organizing campaign responses and results.

General Development Support

Provide administrative and organizational support to the Development Department.

Assist with research, data entry, filing, and other projects as assigned.

Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to support fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

Maintain confidentiality when working with donor and organizational information.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program; preferred fields include nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable working with databases, spreadsheets, email, and Microsoft Office or similar software.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Professional, dependable, and willing to learn.

Interest in nonprofit organizations, fundraising, community engagement, or development is preferred.
